Clothes Shopping Woes

1) The clothes I want online won't arrive until after school starts. I'd feel much better having my closet all full and ready before the first day.

2) Nursing tops are, in a word, ugly.  I'm on a constant search for cute tops in the non-nursing mothers section that will work for my needs.

3) Costco doesn't sell men's jackets in size small. This seems especially odd given the ethnic make up of my geographic region.  Lots of men could use this size.

Middle Class Hobbies

1) I "need" a new, expensive, lens for my expensive digital camera...will need to wait for Christmas or my birthday.

2) We are having trouble finding just the right reclaimed wood to build our dining room table.

3) The flowers the hubs wanted to plant needed to be driven down from a nursery in Oregon.

Suburban Farmer Problems

1. I have too many gorgeous peaches growing in my backyard.  A bunch of them went bad before I could cook them.
2. I was too busy eating the produce from my CSA delivery, and the cilantro in my garden bolted, rending it unusable.
3. I'm pretty sure my red cherry tomatoes are going to ripen ALL AT THE SAME TIME (see #1 for why this is a problem).

Food Snob Issues

1) I don't like the coconut milk at Trader Joe's, and it kind of bugs me that I have to buy what I like at Target.

2) Why don't Trader Joe's and Whole Foods carry instant pudding?

3) Why does Costco only carry non-fat Fage or the one with the sugary toppings? What about something in between?

Grocery Grumbling

1) I'm bothered by the fact that so many recipes on Pinterest start with a cake mix.

2) When I forget my shopping bag, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods always double bag my groceries as if they are trying to punish me (and the environment) for my forgetfulness.

3) It costs more to sub in foods like sweet potato fries or a salad in place of regular fries...I'm pretty sure that the cost of iceberg lettuce is not ALL that different from fries. Is it?

About Amazon

1) Feeling annoyed when the product that shipped for free takes longer to ship than expected.

2) That moment when you realize Amazon doesn't carry what you want to buy. What am I supposed to do now?

3) The tingle of annoyance that so much packaging was used to ship one book.

Make Room for Baby

As we prepare for the arrival of Baby Boy, we are running into some space issues...

1) We want to continue living in our expensive little valley, which means he may have to share a room with the computer (not another person...a computer).

2) The crib (made with wood from renewable sources) is just a smidgen long for the wall...so the hubby might have to take off his closet door.

3) Friends and colleagues are being generous with the hand-me-downs, and I don't know where to put the 12-month clothes.

Yep. I've got problems.

I Feel Pretty

Middle class shoppers don't have it easy...

1) Chanel (or Lancome, Clinique, etc.) discontinued light rose foundation. What color will I use now?

2) I can only find shoes in my size at Nordstrom.

3) The down vests at Eddie Bauer are too thick. Doesn't anyone carry a thin down vest?

It's Not Easy Being Green

1) The grocery store ONLY carries paper bags!

2) The barristas at Starbucks can never remember that my travel mug is a "grande."

3) The organic milk on the shelf at Trader Joe's expires in less than a week.

4) My CSA box has too many green, leafy veggies. More apples, please!

iProblems

Yes, we do have real problems in this current economy.  Some of us cannot find a job. Others struggle to make ends meet, as housing costs increase. I, for one, am not looking forward to the pink slip that I know will come each Spring for the next few years.  These little tidbits, though, can help us to remember all of things for which we can be grateful. Plus, I like making fun of myself every once in a while. Don't you?

Today's Middle Class Problem:

I dropped my iPhone in the toilet.  Now, I have to decide whether to get the white one or the black one to replace it.

You know you've got issues...

To get us off on the right track here...

1. Right after Christmas, the hubs and I had two iPads, a Nook, and a Kindle. Too many consumer electronics? Middle class problem.

2. My recently remodeled rental house was built in 1941 and has closets too small for my wardrobe. Middle class problem.

3. The wifi in my house was moving too slowly for me to pin something to Pinterest from my iPad. Middle class problem.
